Michigan long weekend!

On this trip we give up Internet and television to take a much-needed pause. We channel Thoreau Dead Poet's Society-style, 4-wheeling into the woods. We read celebrity gossip magazines, play Guitar Hero III, work into the night on car projects, eat paczki & gizzards, buy Hot Wheels Monster Trucks & bowling shoes, play with the kids among us - 8 years old, 10 months old, catch up with friends first met 9 years ago. We head to NAIAS to see new models and concept cars, but it's the last Saturday of the show, and it seems like we've seen it before. We do the obligatory White Castle drive-through just before crossing back, eating in the car by streetlight. We are so sleep-deprived by the end that when we stop the houses seem to be swaying, and we wake up to discover we had fallen asleep.
