In the company of women

It's a trek to the Direct Energy Centre via subway, streetcar, and bus, and the women offload in singles and pairs. The One of a Kind show is a place where everything costs two or three times as much as you think it should, but it is a pleasure to browse. It is essential to make decisions at the point of seeing something - this season's items may change next year, this exhibitor may opt out next year, and this item you are holding is in some measure, unique. With an injured back, I found the rate I could walk, a gallery-viewing pace, was the exact pace to go through the show in just under three hours. Browsing the food area is different - one opportunistic sweep for the samples, and a second time to pick up what is most memorable. I appreciate how the sellers, on the evening of the 9th of the 11 days of the show, are still hopeful, proud of their displays, and go the extra step to help the customer. Bottom line: $6 entry fee, <$200 in Clothing, Fabric/Textiles, Flavours, Paper Products, $18 for the taxi home.
