Better than regular television are specialty channels and watching things on demand, i.e.

The Movie Network On Demand (updated Tuesday nights), The Fight Network, World Fishing Network, Spike TV, David Duchovny on Californication, season 2 of Big Love, HGTV On Demand, the Food Network On Demand, BBC World, IFC.

TMNOD nearly replaces the need to go to theatres or to procure movies otherwise. The exception is for film festivals which include non-mainstream fare. How many days until hot docs?
